SONNE (in progress)
Sonne, a factory for ready-made meals and pasta located in the town of Seesen in rural Lower Saxony. In addition to canned goods, this small town once produced cigars, sausages, magnetic toys, and tin cans. Of the flourishing industry, only two of the tinware factories are still in operation today - intact remnants of the nostalgic idea of unlimited industrial progress.
The artists mother, a former worker in the canning factory, plays the various characters from the last chapter of Kafka's "Amerika": A theatre promises employment to anyone who shows up for an interview. In this way, the helpless protagonist Karl finally finds his place in the modern world.
